St. Prix Awarded Sport Canada AAP Funding
Congratulations to Dante St. Prix who has been awarded Sport Canada Athlete Assistance Program funding for the upcoming year. Dante will be participating in various training sessions at the National Training Centre over the coming year.

Judo BC Winter Training Camp Featuring Former National Coach Sensei NakamuraJudo BC will be hosting the 2014 Winter Training Camp at the Abbotsford Judo Club December 27-30, 2014. This is for judoka who are U16 + and have minimum orange belt. The registration fee is $50/person with each club submitting one payment.

In addition to the on mat sessions with Sensei Nakamura there will be a presentation on knee injuries prevention by our very own Lisa Nakajima. Lisa is a former Senior National Champion and is currently a 2ndyear Medical student.  Carl Nienhuis, the Team BC Mental Performance Consultant for the 2015 Canada Winter Games, will also be in attendance to work with the CWG athletes.

Referee Development Seminar in Prince GeorgeThank you to everyone who attended the Referee Development Seminar held November 29-30 in Prince George. There were 14 participants from Prince George Judo Club and Hart Judo Academy.

Les Kotani, Referee Committee Chair and Seiko Ouchi, Referee Committee Advisor, who are both Internationally certified referees, lead the seminar and enriched the participants with their knowledge and experience.
BC Athletes to Compete at the 2015 Elite 8 Invitational National Championships
Congratulations to all the BC athletes who were selected for this new and prestigious competition. The following judoka will be representing BC at the Elite 8 Invitational in January.

To qualify for selection for the 2015 National Championships, please review the Team BC Selection Criteria Policy by

*Important New: In order to compete at the National Championships, all coaches and athletes must complete an on-line learning module produced by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES). This exercise must be completed two weeks prior to the accreditation day of the event. The module will take approximately 90 minutes to complete and is mandatory for everyone.

Judo Quebec Winter Training Camp
Judo Quebec invites you and your judokas to take part in our winter training camp that will be held in Montreal from January 2nd to 4th, 2015.  This year, our guest is the Olympic and World champion Kayla Harrison from USA.
